Toronto police allege that a local gang is responsible for several women and girls from across Canada being forced into the sex-trade industry.



The alleged victims, between 15 and 33 years old, were recruited from dance clubs, schools and group homes in Nova Scotia, Ontario, Alberta and Edmonton. The pimps befriended unsuspecting victims online using Facebook and Instagram.

“The pimps would romance the victims by showering them with attention and gifts in order to create a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship,” she said, adding that they “would slowly manipulate the victims into thinking prostitution
 was glamorous and lucrative.

Those arrested are Toronto residents Marcus Cumsille, 21; Joel Edwards, 22; Tyronne Matthews, 20; Felix Funes Vasquez, 19; Shane Hendry, 18; Symisha Murray, 19; Abdulwahab Sheikh, 18; Keron Christie, 32, and Chanelle Espinosa, 20 and Levi Alexander, 19 who later turned himself in.

A source tells CBC News 30-year-old Jermaine Dunkley, one of the three accused in the November 2013 shooting, is rapper J Noble. Police believe he is a leader with a Rexdale-area gang. 

Jermaine Dunkley's brother, 25-year-old Ricky Dunkley, was shot and killed at a Brampton banquet hall in July 2013. CBC News has learned the victim at the North Kipling Community Centre, 25-year-old Neeko Mitchell, was the DJ at the event where Ricky Dunkley was murdered.

FIVE SEPERATE SHOOTINGS LAST NIGHT!!! WHAT IS GOING ON IN TORONTO!!!

Gunfire rang out at five different locations in Toronto overnight, sending a number of people to hospital with various injuries.
The first shooting occurred near Kipling Avenue and Dixon Road at around midnight. Police say that as many as six shots were heard, however no victims were located. 
The second shooting happened on Shoreham Drive near Jane Street and Steeles Avenue at around 1 a.m.
Police say that one person sustained minor injuries in that shooting after they were clipped by a car while trying to run to safety.
It is not clear how many shots were fired.
Also at 1 a.m., police responded to another shots fired call near Dundas Street and Denison Avenue. A total of four shots were heard, however shell casings were not located.
Another shooting, meanwhile, happened at a townhouse complex near on the East Mall near Rathburn Road at around 1:40 a.m.
Two men were taken to hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, as a result.
Police say that both victims are men in their 20s.
The fifth and final shooting then happened near Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue at around 6 a.m.

On monday April 25 2016 A Toronto man shot dead in Malton on the weekend is a GTA rapper named Sizzlac.


Peel Regional Police identified Mississauga’s third murder victim of 2016 as Mustafa Omar, 29, of Toronto.

Friends have been paying tribute online to Omar, known to many as Sizzlac, saying he was born and raised in “one of the most notorious blocks in Toronto, Jamestown Rexdale.” He recently released a video on YouTube called “Realest in the 6.”

Omar died early Saturday morning after gunshots rang out at a townhouse complex in the area of Goreway Drive and Morning Star Drive in Mississauga around 5:30 a.m. Omar was shot multiple times, police said. Peel Region Paramedics rushed him to hospital but he was pronounced dead there.Three others were also shot. One has been released from hospital while the other two suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Omar was charged in 2009 in a fatal double shooting at a house party on Chinguacousy Road in Brampton in 2009 and served six months in jail for an aggravated assault conviction in relation to the incident, according to Superior court records. Omar was initially charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Terrence Elliott “T-bone” Hughes, 40, and Garth Nicholas Palmer, 29, both Toronto residents. They were shot dead, six others wounded, when gunfire erupted at a historic home south of Queen Street West at 5:17 a.m. June 6, 2009. Omar was charged in that murder along with Justin Bellinger of Toronto. Omar received a discharge on one of the murder charges and the other was withdrawn.

On Sunday, January 24, 2016, at about 4:21 a.m., police responded to a shooting on Ellesmere Road near McCowan Road.

The victim was discovered inside a commercial premises, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to hospital, where he died shortly after arrival.
